HOT SPRINGS WORLD CLASS HIGH SCHOOL: Hot Springs World Class High School's Thespian Troupe 78 attended the Arkansas State Thespian Festival

Hot Springs World Class High School issued the following announcement on Feb. 25.

Hot Springs World Class High School's Thespian Troupe 78 attended the Arkansas State Thespian Festival on campus at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro February 10th-12th. They joined over 1,200 high school students from 53 high schools around the state. For over 40 years Arkansas Thespians has hosted a festival focused on teaching acting and technical theatre to high school students throughout the state.

The event offered over 100 workshops with 58 guest artists. Workshops included acting, dancing, choreography, costume and set design, technical theatre, puppetry, accents, directing, and more.

Thespian Troupe 78 brought home the following Honors and Awards:

>Best of Show: Duet Acting, Bryce Cunningham Nunn and David Coleman

>Honor Thespian: Aithne Emmons

>Superior Awards:

Solo Musical: Danielle Rivera;

Duet Acting: Sloane Nutt and Aithne Emmons

Duet Acting: Bryce Cunningham-Nunn and David Coleman

>Excellent Awards:

Solo Musical: Whit Long and Brianna Burnell;

Duet Acting: Max Barber and Jadyn Daniels, and Seth Serret and Nico Martinez;

Lighting Design: Lydia Godwin

The troupe also competed in tech challenges, short film, and group costume design. Collectively, the troupe members who ranked Superior in their event were offered a total of $60,000 to the Savannah College of Art and Design!
