City of Hot Springs issued the following announcement on Oct. 29.
The citywide burn ban, issued on Friday, Oct. 29, by the Hot Springs Fire Department due to high winds, will be lifted at sunrise on Saturday, Oct. 30
Hot Springs residents can obtain burn permits at the Central Fire Station, 310 Broadway, and the Lakeshore Fire Station, 220 Lakeshore Drive.
The residential burn permit is free, and may only be used as per the conditions on the permit. The permit must be obtained by the owner/occupant of the residential property where the burn will take place. Proof of ownership or occupancy must be verified by driver’s license or recent utility bill statement. The commercial or second-party persons permit is $25, and may only be used as per the conditions on the permit. In some instances, the fire marshal may need to visually inspect the site or materials to be burned before issuing a permit.
Residential burn permits can be obtained seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Commercial burn permits can be obtained Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
