Community of Joy Lutheran Church issued the following announcement on Aug. 21.

During this week of devastating news, Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton encourages us to take a brief pause in silence, 

that we may be able to hear the voices of those affected by tragedy, listen for God, and respond to suffering in our world.
