SACRED HEART OF JESUS CHURCH – HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE: Food Baskets
0Comments

Sacred Heart of Jesus Church – Hot Springs Village issued the following announcement on Oct. 24.

According to 2019 government standards, a family of four (two adults, two children) with an income of $25,750 or less are living in poverty. That is about $2,100 a month, before taxes. By today’s standards, it takes almost twice that to just cover the basics of food, housing, clothing, transportation, medical costs, etc. In Arkansas, 26% of children live in families below the poverty level. This is where the Food Basket Program at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church comes in to help these people. Through this program, supplies of non-perishables and fresh fruit and vegetables are given to families in our area. Names of recipients come from the guidance counselors at the Jessieville, Fountain Lake, and Mountain Pine schools. The Food Basket Program needs volunteers willing to shop and deliver food baskets to families that have been chosen. Submit your receipts to the Committee for reimbursement. Adjustments can be made for social distancing in making the deliveries. If you want to help with this project or would like more information, call Ed Keearns, 501-922-3832. Please help the Food Basket Program for 2021- 2022 by donating to the special collection to be taken up the week-end of October 30-31.
