For the last 2 years, the team at the Omega Supervision Sanction Center has put in countless hours to have an outdoor lighting system, including 18 poles and 36 lights, installed. Entergy completed all of the work for the poles and lights this month, but in the beginning of this process Entergy would not begin the job until a permanent road, at least twelve feet wide, was constructed around the entire facility. A road was already in place around the south side of the facility, but not the north. Maintenance Supervisors Jerry Speaker and Terry Childers, Cpl. Michael Windstein, and Warden Andrew Ruh borrowed equipment from the Construction Division in Pine Bluff, including a bulldozer, roller/packer, track hoe, and dump trucks. They taught themselves how to operate the equipment and began construction. It took them a while, but in the end, they became pretty proficient with the equipment. After the road was finished, Entergy approved it and installed the poles and lights.
