Little Rock increased its lead at the 2026 Ohio Valley Conference Women’s Golf Championship on Apr. 20, moving ahead by 24 shots after the second round at Dalton Golf and Country Club.
The team now holds a strong position with a score of 613 (+37) through two rounds, distancing itself from Tennessee Tech (637), Morehead State (641), Lindenwood (661), Southern Indiana (664), Bryant (665), Tennessee State (682), Eastern Illinois (683) and Western Illinois (712).
Head coach Jenna Birch said, “We did a really good job staying patient and letting the round come to us today. The conditions were much calmer, and I thought we handled that well by sticking to our game plan and not trying to force anything.”
The Trojans have four players leading individually: Eleonore Aernouts remains in first place at +6 after shooting a second-round 74; Cloe Poizac is second at +8 with a round of 76; Fehild Graesel is third at +11 after posting a 77; and Iara Martin is tied for fourth at +12 following her score of 75. Birch said of Aernouts, “She’s been incredibly consistent for us all year, and this week is no different. She’s managing the course really well and putting herself in great positions.” She added about her team’s performance, “It’s been a total team effort. To have four players at the top of the leaderboard says a lot about how focused and prepared this group is. They’re feeding off each other in a really positive way.”
Elvira Flodstrom contributed with her second-round score of 79 to keep Little Rock’s overall advantage intact.
Looking ahead to Tuesday’s final round, Birch said, “We’ve put ourselves in a great position, but the job’s not finished. Tomorrow is about staying locked in, one shot at a time, and finishing what we started.”
