0Comments

Hot Springs World Class High School issued the following announcement on Oct. 28.

The #HSSD – in collaboration with CHI St. Vincent – is pleased to open the Trojans Care Clinic at the HSSD Welcome Center (702 Main Street)!

The Clinic is open on Tuesdays and Fridays, from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. The Trojans Care Clinic is a school-based health center, which is like having an on-campus doctor’s office and/or an extension of a Convenient Care Clinic.

The Trojans Care Clinic will provide the following types of care:

-Preventative Care,

-Sick/Urgent Care (which includes Flu Swabs and Strep Tests, and exams for Ear and Sinus Infections and Coughs/Colds),

-COVID-19 PCR Tests (*Trojan students and staff members will still work with School Nurses and/or the District POC for COVID-19 to take rapid COVID-19 tests at schools, as needed)

-Chronic Disease Management,

-Assessment of an Array of Injuries common to students- Sprains, Strains, etc.

-and other Medical Services that promote general health and wellness for Trojan families.

Parents/Guardians must enroll their students before they can see a healthcare provider at the Trojans Care Clinic. Find Enrollment Forms and all other Clinic details, here: https://www.hssd.net/programs/trojans_care_clinic

Offering medical services on campus will help to ensure that all Trojan students and families have access to the healthcare service they need regardless of their family’s financial situation or proximity to a healthcare facility. An on-site school clinic also allows students to see a healthcare provider during the school day, and (in some situations) does not even require parents to miss work in order to take students to an appointment. Services at the Trojans Care Clinic will be provided by CHI St. Vincent healthcare providers – including a Nurse Practitioner and/or a Physician Assistant.
