Hot Springs World Class High School issued the following announcement on Feb. 16.

The Hot Springs of Arkansas Chapter of DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) honored our Anna Fletcher with a Good DAR Citizen Award, which included a formal ceremony, monetary gift for college, and a certificate and pin. Anna gave a speech at the ceremony and was accompanied by NJROTC Instructors Lieutenant Commander Garrett and Senior Chief Patti. We are so proud of you, Anna!

Anna is one of four Garland County students selected for this honor. DAR explained … “The four high school seniors were chosen by their schools for this prestigious honor. Staff and fellow students believed that their outstanding senior met the qualifications of a good DAR citizen. Those qualifications were displayed to through his leadership, trustworthiness, responsibility, trustworthiness, patriotism, and service at school and in the community.”
