Hot Springs World Class High School issued the following announcement on Jan. 16.
HSWCHS choir member and Thespian Mya Sanders, accompanied by Orchestra Teacher Mr. Weatherspoon, was a featured performer at the NAACP Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Prayer Breakfast, along with the Hot Springs Dance Troupe and Mrs. Amy Bramlett Turner. The HSDT presented their new original social justice work, “The New Normal,” inspired by the overwhelming changes and exhaustion of the last few years. We are extremely proud of our students and arts programs who use their talents to connect to our community.
Mr. and Mrs. Hughley, HSWCHS teachers, were this years emcees and alumna Makenna Underwood, currently a Sophomore at Howard University, spoke about her experiences.
We proudly support our staff and students as they honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
