CHAMPION CHRISTIAN COLLEGE: Happy Constitution Day!
0Comments

Champion Christian College issued the following announcement on Sept. 17.

Constitution Day, a civic holiday commemorating the signing of the U.S. Constitution by the Founding Fathers. In 1787, the visionary men gathered in Philadelphia’s Independence Hall could have never foreseen the blessing their actions would be for the newborn United States and indeed the entire world. The U.S. Constitution is considered the first permanent document of its kind, and it has been an inspiration and a model for other nations for almost 250 years.

Celebrated jointly with Constitution Day is Citizenship Day, reminding us that although we are thankful for the actions of our predecessors, we can never take the government they gave us for granted. Our twofold response to the privilege of living in America must be not only respect and gratitude for our Constitution but also active and responsible citizenship to safeguard the freedoms it offers us.
