Arkansas Department of Corrections issued the following announcement on Jan. 3.

Staff from the McPherson Unit participated in the “Spirit of Giving” raising money to give back to local elementary school children in need. Each child was given a personalized gift with candy, clothing, blankets, toys, other goodies, and one large wish item. Members of the McPherson team were humbled by the experience and elated to be able to give back to the children in their community.
